At RPi Engineering
...we have had the experience of 15 years dismantling in excess of 2000 V8 engines. We offer all our improvements based on the faults and subsequent wear and failures continually witnessed from so many examples. It is also worthwhile noting that all the component improvements we offer with respect to the following specification have also been improved in the later generation Rover 4.0 and 4.6 engines (this is as close as you'll get to Rover admitting it wasn't right in the first place!). Further engine optimization is detailed on the following pages and will draw your attention to the improvements available to carburetion, injection and ignition systems.

Camshaft +15-22 bhp

Cloyes or Edelbrock, Duplex timing chain set min. +2- 4 bhp

Composite Gaskets (Felpro or McCord)

Modified or New Oil Pump Base

Mains (Main Bearing) Stud Kit

The bhp figures in brackets assume an average of power gains, these would be significantly increased if the original components that you are replacing were in less than perfect condition. We strongly believe in achieving power exactly where you need it.

What is the point in giving your vehicle 300bhp at 6000rpm when for fast road use 1000-5000rpm would be the normal operating rev range. All our Engines, including 'Self Assembly', are designed exactly according to your individual Budget & Power requirements or individual needs. It is no secret that the standard factory specification V8 engine as fitted to all Rover models was heavily compromised due to price and export legislation etc. We have also found that most things we learn or discover are realized by our on-going dismantling of worn, tired or fully destroyed V8 engines. In our workshop we painstakingly take them apart, ensuring we note their problems and cause of demise.
